At some point you have to release your death grip on the cross and allow God to show you the big picture. Then you have to let Him fill you back up with grace.
If you stay down there at the foot of the cross, gripping in with all your might you will miss the wonder of seeing Christ's sacrifice up above. You have to step back, release your anxieties, and lift your head to view the Son of God as he gives you the ultimate gift of himself.
It is difficult to do this. It is hard to let go, get up and step back. But it must be done so that you can reach out your arms and allow the Father to fill you back up with grace. As you see the gift, as you feel answered prayers wash over you, you will need strength to press on towards the goal. That strength can only come from Him. You must allow Him to replenish your soul. Feel His power, grace, love and mercy course through your veins. You might try to go on without stopping to be refilled, but you won't get far and you risk leaving a trail of destruction in your wake.
If you will step back and let Him fill you up you can go forward knowing that He is your supply, He is your guide and He is the ultimate answer then you can rest assured that you have come through the trial successfully.
The darkness may not be totally gone. There may still be some obstacles in your way, but remember that this is only Friday. Sunday is coming.
