  • Toddlers are hard to entertain.

    I've been having to get creative. Here's Lucy yesterday playing with different cups, bowls, spoons and containers filled with water. This kept her pretty busy. She played with these for about half an hour - in toddler time that's pretty good.
    It's been getting harder and harder to take her out of the house. Anywhere we go where she has to be in a grocery cart she gets pretty mad because she wants to be down and walking. That gets kind of frustrating because I feel like we stay home a lot. Luckily she still likes being in her stroller so we've been taking tons of walks. I've made it a goal to take a 1/2 hour walk every night and so far I've been doing that for a few weeks straight! I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm starting to lose a little weight too - yay! I feel like I'm more in shape now, like I can walk farther and farther. Lucy and I walk right by a field of cows every night and last night a cow that was standing right by the fence opened his mouth and MOOOOOOed practically right in our faces. It was so loud! Lucy mooed right back at it.
    There's a new place here in Redmond that just opened up and has been a lifesaver some days! It's called Outside-In Playcafe and is an awesome place to take little kids to play and get some of their energy out while parents relax. She likes it there a lot. I'm looking forward to taking her there a lot this winter when the weather's too bad to do anything outside.
    On another note, I found these online yesterday - Mama merit badges. I think the descriptions are so funny. I want some!
