Submit A Site
There are a few guidlines and requirements that must be met before a site is considered for inclusion on BendBlogs.com:
- The site must be local: Anywhere where the blog is written from or for the tri-county area (Deschutes, Jefferson, or Crook counties) in Central Oregon is elegible. A blogger based out of Portland but writing a Bend blog is eligible, as is the person based out of Redmond but writing a blog with a national scope.
- The site must have an RSS or ATOM feed if you want the articles to show up in the listings.
- It actually has to be a blog. Just because your site has an RSS feed doesn't necessarily mean it's a blog. Don't know if your site's a blog or a journal? Read up.
- The site must have more than a few entries. We've run into a lot of brand new blogs that post an entry or two, submit it to our site, and then never post another entry again. Post a few entries, make sure you're going to keep it going, and then we'll list you. (Yes, we know there are blogs on this site that don't fit that rule, and they will be removed when time allows.)
We reserve the right to reject any blog for any reason we feel like it and we also reserve the right to ignore your submission completely and not respond to it.
After you submit the form, we will look at your site and verify that it is indeed a Central Oregon-based blog. If it's not obvious on the site, we will check the WHOIS records for the domain hosting the blog. If we still don't easily discover its locality, we will try to contact you.
If there is any doubt on your site about your locality or focus, please add additional comments in the field below to make our lives easier. It can take up to a week for your blog to appear on the site (this site is run as a hobby, and Real Life™ has to take priority).
The only required fields below are the Blog URL and name, as the bulk majority of the information below will be picked up automatically when we include you in the directory (just make sure it's correct in your RSS/Atom feeds). Your IP address and browser information along with whatever information you put into this form is submitted to the staff at Bend Blogs, but is only tracked in case somebody decides to spam the living heck out of us.
